Let's work backwards!

2023 : I attended the Flatiron School's Software Engineering program, kickstarting my career in coding.

2019 : I shifted gears into an operations role in the startup at which I've been working since 2017, leading me to an addiction to Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, which in turn planted the seeds of coding in the back of my brain.

2018 : My Tony Hawk's Pro Skater tribute band, The Downhill Jam, starts rehearsing, eventually leading to a great working relationship with the Birdman himself to collaborate on shows and events all over Southern California.

2017 : I accepted a customer service role at the third tech startup of my career, this time in the company's infancy - it was only 9 months old when I joined! This subscription-based luxury goods retailer is where I remain to this day, though I was given the opportunity to change roles on several occasions in my time there, including operations, inventory management, and warehouse/staff management.

2016 : I started working at the second startup of my career - a rideshare service for minors. In this role, I helped to ensure the safety of every rider by monitoring active rides in real-time.

2014 : I moved from Chicago, IL to Los Angeles, CA primarily because my partner graduated with her Master's from UCLA and started her outstanding career in urban planning, but also to further pursue comedy and acting while seeing what new opportunities I could find.

2012 : My first startup job! A tutoring marketplace that helps students find help in a wide range of subjects. This solidified my love of the startup environment which affords ambitious employees the opportunity to expand their skillsets. If you see something that needs to be done, you can often just start doing it, even if it's not directly within the scope of your job description.

2010 : I moved from Rochester, NY to Chicago, IL in pursuit of a personal passion - improv comedy. I'd go on to attend classes at and perform with The Second City, the iO Theater, and One Group Mind, while also co-founding the long-running independent comedy show "Potential Boyfriends".

2009 : I started my first real adult job - working customer service for a phone company. A miserable experience at the time, but looking back, it helped me to start defining my preferred work environment and company culture, both of which are tremendously valuable things to learn about yourself. It wasn't all bad though, they did give me the opportunity to work remotely upon my move to Chicago in an era when remote work was not at all commonplace the way it is now.
